Yeah! Weddings Cake Giveaway - UPDATE!

Remember that killer free wedding contest we were promoting earlier this year with YEAH! Weddings? The winners were selected and the wedding was had, and the results... let's just say I have made two new friends of the bride and groom that I see quite regularly.

Every step of the wedding planning process with Melanie + Kelcey was photographed, even the cake and dessert tasting with yours truly.

You can view Part 1 of the entire behind the scenes planning process from the dress, to the tasting, to the drinking! on Green Wedding Shoes  AND 100 Layer Cake

We had a really great time crafting this unique and truly unconventional wedding cake display for Melanie + Kelcey with the help of Bash, Please. It's one of my favorite cakes to date. A palette of blue petite fours displayed upon white canvases to create a more literal interpretation of "Cake as Art".

Congrats to my pals Kelcey + Melanie!!

See Part 2 of their journey on Green Wedding Shoes AND 100 Layer Cake.

The collective of wedding professionals that made this couple's wedding possible are without a doubt the best in the business, and it was a pleasure to be part of this group:

Death by Cake... and Pie.

I found myself making some pretty rad cakes and pies this summer at the shop. No particular recipe followed. Just some raw ingredients, and a desire to blow minds.

And on a rare occasion (and I do mean rare) I congratulate myself cause I've crafted the perfect ratio of awesomeness to make a dessert unique to The Scootabaker. Behold, the "Fat Bottom Pie" *chuckles* - Salted PB Cookie Crust cradles layers of dark chocolate ganache, brandy cream, bananas, and toasted meringue. I've had to make quite a few of these in it's premier week.

Pastry Only

Recently cinematographer + photographer Gustavo Petersen paid us a visit and captured bits and pieces of our baking work space. A small peek into my mornings at the shop.

Mr + Mrs Scootabaker Get Married

As both a wedding dessert vendor and bride to be I fawned over the possibility of not only having my desserts featured on a wedding website, but having my OWN wedding photos chosen and featured on one. Today it's no luck that I get to share with you this reality. It was the meeting of preparation, opportunity, and a few of my really talented wedding vendor friends that helped make this wedding uniquely our own.

Green Wedding Shoes didn't even hesitate to pick up our photos and feature them on their site. Woohoo! To see the full post of Hi-Res images, click---------------> //here//
